Cookie Policy
Effective Date: February 16, 2026 · Last Updated: February 16, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how SparkOS LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on joinsparkos.com (the "Site"). This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how you use the site. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixel tags.
2. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies
2.1 Strictly Necessary (Required)
These are essential for the Site to function. They cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
| Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Firebase Auth | Authentication state — keeps you signed in | Session / persistent |
| Session Storage | Temporary state during onboarding, quiz flows, and invite processing | Browser session |
| Local Storage | Demo mode data, user preferences, theme settings | Persistent until cleared |
2.2 Functional
These enhance your experience but are not strictly necessary.
| Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Local Storage (preferences) | Sound effects toggle, theme preference, last viewed page | Persistent until cleared |
| Zustand Persist | Client-side state caching for faster page loads | Persistent until cleared |
2.3 Analytics
We may use analytics to understand how the Site is used and to improve the Service.
| Technology | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Analytics | Page view and performance metrics (anonymized) | Session |
| Firebase Analytics | Feature usage tracking (if enabled) | Up to 2 years |
Analytics data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not use analytics cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.
2.4 Third-Party Cookies
Some third-party services used by SparkOS may set their own cookies:
- Google (Firebase): Authentication and security tokens.
- Stripe: Fraud prevention during checkout. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
We do not use any advertising cookies or tracking pixels from ad networks.
3. We Do NOT Use
- Advertising or retargeting cookies
- Cross-site tracking pixels
- Social media tracking cookies
- Third-party data brokers or data sale mechanisms
4. Managing Cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Privacy, Search, and Services → Cookies
You can also clear local storage and session storage through your browser's developer tools (Application tab).
Note: Blocking strictly necessary cookies or clearing local storage may prevent you from signing in or using key features of SparkOS.
5. Do Not Track
SparkOS does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals because there is no industry-standard implementation. However, we do not engage in cross-site tracking regardless of DNT settings.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Site or email. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
